Who We Are
We are a group of students who are dedicated to showing the love of Jesus Christ on campus, and to continually pursuing him personally in relationships with him. Acts 1:8 says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” We desire to build relationships with each other, and with students on campus, in order to effectively obey Jesus’ commandment in Acts.
What We Do
We
meet every Thursday night at 8pm either in the Bartlett
Trophy Lounge for a large group meeting, have
Bible studies in
different dorms throughout the week. The year is filled with events
such as Fall Retreat, Christmas Conference, Big Break, and Chicago Cru meetings.
We enjoy inviting special guest speakers as opportunities for new people to
attend CRU, and we also do a variety of outreaches
and community service. Our main goal in every scenario is to represent
Christ and make sure that God's presence is known on campus and in the
community. Meet this
year's leadership team and staff!
What We Believe
The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, God's infallible written Word, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, and that it was written without error (inerrant) in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks.
We accept those areas of doctrinal teaching on which, historically, there has been general agreement among all true Christians. Because of the specialized calling of our movement, we desire to allow for freedom of conviction on other doctrinal matters, provided that any interpretation is based upon the Bible alone, and that no such interpretation shall become an issue which hinders the ministry to which God has called us.
